Green Shipping Line has designed a proprietary tool and system to measure the carbon footprint of cargo that is based on the EU Marco Polo Calculator. The Magellan calculator measures the footprint of each cargo transit by comparing different supply chain routes to determine more efficient ones. The Magellan calculator assigns values to various aspects including miles travelled, environmental impacts, road damage, and gridlock. This formula is unique as it is able to compare values between road, rail, and water.
