Offshore Wind Farm Transportation

 By 2030, the industry could create 83,000 jobs in the U.S. and deliver large amounts of clean and reliable energy to our country’s largest cities. 

By 2024, U.S. offshore installed wind capacity will grow from 30 MW to 5,000 MW.

 The U.S. has an expansive offshore wind energy resource with the potential of generating more than 2,000 gigawatts (GW), nearly double our nation’s current electricity use. 

Wind Energy Areas

 Currently, U.S. waters are home to 41 BOEM wind energy areas. 

 There are currently 15 active commercial leases for offshore wind farm development in the U.S., that if fully built, could support approximately 25 gigawatts of offshore wind capacity.
