Green Shipping Line has designed affordable, state-of-the-art, Jones Act compliant vessels that will provide environmentally friendly marine transportation of goods on the American Marine Highway. These short sea shipping vessel models are available for purchase at affordable prices for you to build at your shipyard of choice.

Models:

The Eleanor Model:

 

  • Type: The multi-purpose Eleanor model is a Voith-propelled, diesel-electric cargo vessel of all double hull construction. It is designed for the carriage of voluminous project cargo (such as offshore wind farm components) on the hatches or in open hold condition as well as for containers. By taking some precautions, some types of bulk cargoes can be carried too along the American Marine Highway. (Please note: It is uncertain if USCG will accept the vessel to have an open top notation.)
  • Tonnage: GT 4880 (acc. Convention 1969)
  • Length: 107.20 m.
  • Engine: 6×532 kW
  • Outfitted with DP2
  • Classification: ABS ✠A1 , ✠ AMS, General Cargo Vessel
  • Capacity: 266 TEU

The Ellie Model:

 

  • Type: The Ellie model is a multipurpose vessel of all double hull construction, designed for the carriage of voluminous project cargo on the hatches or in open hold condition as well as bulk products, such as grain, fertilizer, ore, and others, timber and containers along the American Marine Highway .
  • Tonnage: < GT 3000 (acc. Convention 1969)
  • Length: 89.95 m.
  • Engine: 1.520 kW
  • Classification: ABS ✠A1, ✠ AMS, Container Carrier
  • Capacity: 206 TEU

Routes

GSL will convert offshore supply vessels from the Gulf of Mexico to be able to carry containers, (container shipping) with initial routes from New York to Boston; Miami to Tampa; Miami to Port Canaveral. The vessels under consideration can carry roughly 108 TEU on each voyage. Bareboat charters are also available upon request.
